ATLANTA (April 10, 2023) — Cartermourns the passing of Kent C. "Oz" Nelson, who served as chairman of CarterBoard of Trustees from 2009 through 2015. He joined the board in 1994. Mr. Nelson, the former chairman and CEO of United Parcel Service, was board chair of United Way of America and United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, as well as the Annie E. Casey Foundation.
"Oz Nelson's 20 years of dedicated service helped make Carterthe strong organization it is today,” said Jason Carter, who succeeded Mr. Nelson as board chair. "He was a great friend to me personally and to all of us at the Center. And he was a great friend to the people we serve."
